Muchui Women Group Kitchen Garden Report

This report covers the history of kitchen garden members for the last two months.

RESOURCES FOR DRIP IRRIGATION
– All the 70 K.G.M has been issued with the following drip
irrigation resources:-
– 1000 ltrs water tanks.
– Drip line system covering 500m2
– Bird nets covering 250m2.
– Barbed wire (1 bale) each.

VISIT TO 70 KITCHEN GARDEN MEMBERS.
This visit was to implement and monitor the following:-
– Seedbed preparation and transplanting
– 62 members have prepared and transplanted their seedbed.

The types of crops planted are:

Inside Bird net.

N.B the above Crops are dependent to the rain.

There are 4 raised seedbeds to be planted tomatoes with drip line irrigation system. Total number of tomato seedlings will be 312/member. Transplanting to start soon. Demacation of kitchen gardens screen houses for 8 members.

These 8 members were the last to get drip irrigation system and will transplant soon.
Investigating pest and diseases attack and their control.
Weeding and fertilizer application.

Safety of the drip irrigation resources.
Record keeping.

Each kitchen garden member should have a record showing
– Water consumption.
– Chemical used and day table.
– Fertilizer application.
– Harvesting etc

C) SEEDLINGS IN THE MBC GREENHOUSE FOR KITCHEN GARDENS.
i) Tomatoes.
ii) Cabbage.
iii) Kales.
iv) Capsicum.
Onions.
Brinjils.
